Two-Step Operation
Step 1: Brewing and Filtering
- Combine: Place your dandelion 10 whole plant roots included into a pot Use fresh dandelions that have not been treated with pesticides (picked by yourself)
- Add Water: Pour in cold water until it covers the herbs and rises about one knuckle (approx. 0.5 to 1 inch) above them.
- Boil & Simmer: Bring the water to a rolling boil over high heat. Once boiling, immediately turn the heat down to low, cover the pot with a lid, and start your timer. Simmer for 15 to 20 minutes.
- Filter: As soon as the time is up, turn off the heat. Use a fine mesh strainer to immediately separate and discard all the herb dregs, leaving only the dark herbal liquid.
Step 2: Cooling and Application (The Crucial Step)
- Initial Cool: Let the filtered liquid sit on the counter until it cools down to room temperature.
- Advanced Anti-Itch Chill (Highly Recommended): Pour the cooled liquid into a clean container and place it in the fridge for 15 to 20 minutes until it is thoroughly chilled.
- Apply the Compress: Soak a clean gauze pad, cotton washcloth, or paper towel in the ice-cold dandelion liquid. Wring it out slightly so it is not dripping, and gently lay it over your itchy, red skin.
- Duration: Leave the cold compress on for 10 to 15 minutes. You can repeat this process several times a day whenever the intense itching flares up.
Please make a fresh batch every day
Pro-Tip: The ice-cold temperature acts as a natural nerve-calming agent. Combined with the anti-inflammatory properties of the dandelion, it will constrict the blood vessels under your skin and instantly cut off the intense itching and burning sensation caused by the poison ivy.
